It's time to get the space in the Ford Building ready for our move. The painting is the responsibility of the GFO and we are asking for volunteers to help clean and paint. We are organizing work parties for Thursday, Friday and Saturday-May 19, 20 and 21.
We especially need to get the ceiling painted right away so the HVAC contractor can put the ducts in.
The space is so large that, if we can get enough volunteers, we can have several groups working at once. First order of business will be to scrape any loose paint (not very much), clean or dust all the pipes near the ceiling, then prime any small bare spots and paint.
The painting and cleaning of the space is at our expense, so the more time and supplies we all provide the better off the organization is. (Anyone with a paint sprayer and some time on their hands would certainly be helpful.)
We will need the following supplies:
Ladders (9 ft ceiling)
paint scrapers, putty knives, etc.
brushes rollers, paint pans, rags
mops and buckets to clean the walls with TSP type cleaner drop clothes brooms, dust pans
Basically anything needed to clean and paint. We have a locked room for the supplies so we don't have to take them home every night.
