MOVING AHEAD

On Feb. 1, TriMet staff provided an update to its estimates for property acquisition along Gideon Street. It now projects conducting appraisals and negotiations during the winter of 2010-11, moving up the actions on our current building by about 6 months from the previous estimate. Formal notice to move is now projected for Feb. 2011, which means beginning our property search about November, 2010. Action estimates from TriMet change from time to time as more information and approvals are available, so precise dates will be hard to come by for a few months. The Relocation committee and Board are in the process of drawing together a set of requirements to guide our search. The list will be made available to members, and interested members will be encouraged to report to the committee any properties they know of that might be good candidates.

HERITAGE SCRAPBOOKING

It's that time again! I realize some of you will have "Superbowl" plans, but if football is not your thing, do plan to join us this Sunday at 1 p.m.
at the GFO Higgins Room.

This month, Brina Bolanz will give a talk on “Photo Dating : Costumes & Hairstyles 1840-1900”, an overview of the style trends typically seen in studio portraits during the Victorian era. You will learn to establish surprisingly accurate dates for your undated family photographs!

After Brina's talk, you'll have time to work on your album or continue to sort your photos or do some planning.

Please let me know if you are coming so we can properly set up the room to accommodate everyone.

See you there!
