We are continuing with our Heritage Scrapbooking group on Sunday, October 3rd, 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Higgins Room at the Genealogical Forum of Oregon. We are devoting all our time this month to working on our albums (or getting those heritage photos sorted and identified). Please feel free to join us to either work on your album or to just gather ideas from others in the group. As always, tools and some papers will be available for your use.
Let me know if you'd like to come so we will have enough table set up to accommodate the group.
Hope to see you on Oct. 3rd.
Regards,
Bonnie LaDoe

ILLINOIS GROUP, SATURDAY 9/11
Have you given any thought
to what you¹re going to do with your life
after Summer Vacation?
Start off by coming to Illinois Interest
on Saturday, September 11th,
9:30 to 11:30 a.m.
And bring with you the story of
³What I Did on My Summer Vacation²
The program for the day will be presented by all the genealogists in the room as we share the stories of our summer research and what we discovered...
or what we learned...
or what we tripped upon by accident...
or what we tried to find out but couldn¹t...
or even what we did instead of genealogy!
You cannot go wrong ‹ no matter the topic you choose to share.
Kristy is writing in about life in Illinois...
including a visit from an Illinois Interest member!
Harlene is preparing to share some of the things she learned about during the summer...things you¹ll want to know about.
Bring your own story of the summer¹s excitements
and share them with friends.
Let¹s kick the new Œschool year¹ off
with a big crowd at the September meeting!
BRING A SACK LUNCH...OR RUN OUT TO EAT...
and then return for Connie Lenzen's program on Google.
You will be surprised by what you can make that search engine find!!

HERITAGE SCAPBOOKING, SUNDAY 9/12
We're beginning a new season of Heritage Scrapbooking at the GFO on Sunday Sept. 12 in the Higgins Room. Our new hours are from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Subsequent meetings will be on the 1st Sunday of each month through May 2011.
The focus of our group is to get our heritage photos into a safe and family friendly environment, be it in a paper album, or a digital album using scanned photos. By combining our family photos with genealogy and family history records, we can leave our descendants a wonderful legacy - and have fun doing it!
Please let me know if you'd like to join us.
Regards,
Bonnie LaDoe

WRITERS' FORUM SATURDAY, SEPT.11,2010
Hello Aspiring Writers,
Believe it or not, it's time again!
The Writers' Forum will meet on Saturday, September 11th, from 11:45 a.m.
until 1:45 p.m. at the Genealogical Forum of Oregon. We meet the second Saturday of each month.
Everyone is welcome, whether you have participated before or not. This is your chance to get started writing or improve your writing, whether you are writing for yourself, for others, or plan to enter the GFO writing contest this year.
We learn about good writing techniques -- write and read what we write to each other. Without exception, everyone who has participated in this group over the last six years writes better than they did when they started.
This year we are working with Roy Peter Clark's Writing Tools: 50 Essential Strategies for Every Writer published by Little, Brown and Company in 2006.
Each year we work with a book, but this particular book is making more difference In our writing than any other book we've worked with. We'll be working with Tool 15 Workshop: "Pay Attention to Names" this Saturday.
Bring your lunch if you would like.
Peggy
