Seattle Genealogical Society Spring Seminar

Greetings!

About four years ago many of you may remember that Colleen Fitzpatrick spoke at JGSO as well as at a presentation in southeast Portland at my request. She's back in the northwest, and any of you who can trek to Seattle, may wish to hear this exciting presentation.

Check the time and place on her website at http://www.forensicgenealogy.info/

TMG-SUG MEETING SATURDAY, MAY 21

The Master Genealogist Software Users group will still hold their meeting this coming Saturday starting at 9:30 AM in the Higgins room.
The topic of discussion will be the "witness" feature which is part of the event recording "tag". It is a useful feature and I believe unique to this software program. And as usual, there will be time for questions and answers etc.

I realize that Saturday will be quite devoted to remodeling for Forum members, but this meeting might be a chance to take a break from painting etc. We missed our last scheduled meeting and will most likely miss the next as well. So I hope this last one at the old location is a memorable one.

Hope to see you there.

GFO NEEDS A PAINTING PARTY FOR FORD BUILDING

It's time to get the space in the Ford Building ready for our move. The painting is the responsibility of the GFO and we are asking for volunteers to help clean and paint. We are organizing work parties for Thursday, Friday and Saturday-May 19, 20 and 21.
We especially need to get the ceiling painted right away so the HVAC contractor can put the ducts in.

The space is so large that, if we can get enough volunteers, we can have several groups working at once. First order of business will be to scrape any loose paint (not very much), clean or dust all the pipes near the ceiling, then prime any small bare spots and paint.

The painting and cleaning of the space is at our expense, so the more time and supplies we all provide the better off the organization is. (Anyone with a paint sprayer and some time on their hands would certainly be helpful.)

We will need the following supplies:

Ladders (9 ft ceiling)
paint scrapers, putty knives, etc.
brushes rollers, paint pans, rags
mops and buckets to clean the walls with TSP type cleaner drop clothes brooms, dust pans

Basically anything needed to clean and paint. We have a locked room for the supplies so we don't have to take them home every night.

Please contact me if you can work any of those days and/or provide any supplies.

It will be so much fun!!
